The victim was found Wednesday morning near Market Avenue and 6th Street.
RICHMOND – A suspect was arrested in connection with a homicide Wednesday in North Richmond, authorities said.
Deputies were dispatched to the area near Market Avenue and 6th Street just after 10 a.m. for a report of a person on the sidewalk who was bleeding, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim received first aid and CPR, but was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities did not publicly identify the victim Wednesday.
Deputies identified 61-year-old Richmond resident Terri James as a suspect in the killing, according to the sheriff’s office.
James was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on a charge of murder. She is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
