Grande Prairie RCMP’s crime reduction unit arrested and charged three people related to drug trafficking following an investigation.

It began on Sept. 3 when the CRU tried to stop a pickup truck, but the driver managed to evade them. The following day, the truck was located, and the RCMP were able to pull the vehicle over in a traffic stop. As officers approached the vehicle, they were able to see controlled substances and arrested the three people in the vehicle.

When investigators searched the truck they found 170 grams of methamphetamines; 75 gras of cocaine; 104 grams of fentanyl; drug trafficking paraphernalia; bear mace; brass knuckles; and an undisclosed amout of Canadian currency.
Arrested were Treunrau, 42, with no fixed address, Aiden Laliberte, 32, and Sergion Calong Nunez, 28. Laliberte and Nunez are both residents of Grande Prairie.
All three were charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
All three were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. All are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie, with Calona Nunez appearing on Sept. 8, 2025, Unrau on Sept. 9, 2025 and Laliberté on Sept. 17, 2025.
