Trump Faces $350 Million Judgment and Three-Year Business Ban in New York Court Ruling:

Former President Donald Trump, along with his sons, business associates, and company, has been ordered by a judge to pay more than $350 million in damages and has been temporarily restricted from conducting business activities in New York. Judge Arthur Engoron issued the ruling following a civil business fraud trial, in which the plaintiffs, including the New York Attorney General Letitia James, alleged repeated and persistent fraud committed by Trump and his associates.

The judgment, totaling over $354 million in damages, also includes a temporary ban on Trump serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or legal entity for a period of three years. With pre-judgment interest, the total judgment surpasses $450 million. Furthermore, Trump and his company are barred from applying for bank loans for three years.

Reacting to the ruling, Trump expressed his intention to appeal, stating, “We’ll appeal and we’ll be successful.” He criticized the judgment as unjust, emphasizing his perspective on the perceived unfairness of the decision.

The case marks a significant legal setback for Trump, impacting both his financial interests and his political persona, as he is currently running for the White House for a third time. Despite Trump’s defiance, the ruling reflects a significant victory for the New York Attorney General’s office and underscores the principle of accountability under the law.

The judge’s decision also imposes additional oversight measures on the Trump Organization, including the appointment of an Independent Monitor and the installation of an Independent Director of Compliance. These measures aim to ensure compliance and prevent future fraudulent activities within the company.
