Two men are facing dozens of charges after police seized several firearms and $70,000 worth of drugs from around Calgary.

The Calgary Police Service was alerted of a man believed to be breaching his court-imposed conditions by being in possession of firearms and conducting activity “consistent with drug trafficking” in January this year.

CPS, together with the RCMP discovered several other individuals who may have been associated to the man and involved in ongoing criminal activity.

On March 18, the two police organizations executed search warrants at four residences located in northeast Calgary and Airdrie. Four vehicles connected to suspects were also searched.

“Four men were arrested following the searches. Two men were charged, and two men were released without charges,” said CPS in a Wednesday release.

Among the items seized from the first suspect were 2.41 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, 224.1 grams of suspected cocaine, 25.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine and seven tablets of Oxycodone, totaling around $70,000 in street value.

The first suspect was also had 11 unlawfully possessed firearms.

Amanullah Khan, 33, of Calgary, faces 22 firearm related charges, three for drug related offenses and five counts of breach of a release order.

Khan remains in custody and is set to appear in court on Friday.

From the second suspect, digital scales, grug packaging materials, and small amounts of suspected methamphetamine and crack cocaine were seized by police along with $270.

Mohamed Nadjib Medjadj, 22, of Calgary faces five charges for breach of a release order and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Medjadj has since been released and will appear in court on April 11.
