Forget going to the chapel, who needs all the bells and whistles of a traditional ceremony when you can say ‘I do’ in one of the most beautiful places on earth?
The Maldives is nature’s love nest and a long-time favourite spot for honeymooners to enjoy their first few days of married life but also offers an incredible location to swap vows with your significant other.
Luxury resort Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives has just released four new packages for 2025 including one unforgettable experience.
The resort’s ‘Heartbeat’ package allows couples to say ‘I do’ while floating in the middle of the Indian Ocean and it doesn’t get more romantic than that.
These ceremonies take place at 5 ° North, a wooden platform at the heart of Finolhu’s tropical lagoon that’s located five degrees north of the equator.
The package starts from $3400 US (approx. €3250) and includes a four-course dinner on the platform following the ceremony.
From there, newlyweds will get to enjoy a 30-minute sunset cruise on a traditional Maldivian-style boat.
There are also in-villa bed and bath decorations as well as the renowned floating breakfast while other add-ons to the package include a traditional boduberu band, fireworks, and an overnight stay at Finolhu’s famous Beach Bubble.
The other three packages are almost as impressive. The Ishgi ‘Romantic’ package features a wedding set-up on a sandbank in front of the ocean as the perfect backdrop for pictures. Prices here start from $1600 US (approx. €1530).
Jump to the next package level and the Dhaaimee ‘Everlasting’ package also includes a stunning four-course dinner on the beach as well as a chorus of traditional Maldivian drummers to perform during the ceremony. Prices start from $2,600 (approx. €2485).
The most luxurious option is the Loabiverin ‘Lovers’ package which is from $5,000 US (approx. €4775) and features flower ladies and a breakfast experience at the Beach Bubble among the highlights.
Each package also consists of a variation of floral arrangements, food and drink options, in-room decorations, a bridal bouquet and boutonniere for the groom, champagne, a tiered wedding cake, digital photographs and a symbolic wedding certificate.
