Una is taking part in new Netflix reality show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, which sees a group of celebrities drop into the jungle as prey for Bear Grylls.

Una will be starring alongside Spice Girl Mel B and Strictly’s Shirley Ballas in the show that’s presented by Holly Willoughby.

While she’s setting out to make her kids proud, she’s also hoping to have as much fun as possible while avoiding the pitfalls that go with spending time in the jungle.

‘Hopefully, fingers crossed, I don’t have any misfortunes like being bitten! I’m going to put my best foot forward anyway and see what happens!’ she said.

She’s also not too concerned about being away from the kids for a long period of time. ‘They’re really excited. I wouldn’t have done it if they were worried about me being away that long. They were like – “Go for it, mummy.” So that’s really reassuring for me and also it drives me too.’

There are some things that Una’s really looking forward to about the experience, and being off grid for a while is one of the biggest things. ‘Aside from missing them, I’m kind of delighted to not have my phone for a while and switching off from the real world.’

As for all that’s in store for the celebrities, who are generally more used to a comfortable existence, Una said that she’s naturally a very adventurous person and taking on this kind of challenge is right up her street.

‘I love cold water swimming and I’m not scared of going on a roller coaster. I’ve done a parachute jump before. I used to be a champion swimmer when I was a child,’ she revealed, but there is one thing that is frightening her about the show.

‘There are the things I am not great with – I am terrified of spiders to be honest,’ she admitted.

Well, that’s going to be some challenge to overcome! We’re sure the kids will be super proud of Una facing her fears on television.

Celebrity Bear Hunt launches February 5 on Netflix.
