Woman dies after getting shot in Lauderhill​on January 24, 2025 at 12:24 pm

Lauderhill police are searching for the shooter who killed a woman Thursday night.

According to police, officers responded to the 3400 block of Northwest Seventh Street at about 9 p.m. after receiving reports about a shooting.

Police said officers found multiple shell casings at the scene.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office dispatch informed officers that a woman, identified Friday as 29-year-old Brittany Chatman, had driven herself to HCA Florida Plantation Emergency Hospital with gunshot wounds. A woman who identified herself as Chatman’s mother told Local 10 News that her daughter, however, was driven to the hospital by someone else in a “private car.”

She died shortly after arriving, according to investigators.

Police said the motive for the shooting remains unknown and there are no known suspects at this time.
