FREEDOMS AGAIN UNDER ATTACK

The Justin Trudeau government passed legislation directly aimed at limiting free speech. It also invoked the Emergencies Act and froze the bank accounts of protesters. The Mark Carney government has upped those attacks against our hard-fought-for freedoms.

Bill C2 will give this government sweeping powers to spy on personal information under the guise of doing border protection. Bills C8 and C9 are specifically aimed at seriously limiting free speech.

A few months into his tenure, rather than prioritizing new trade deals and fighting against Trump tariffs, Carney’s priority is having control over what citizens can say.

This smacks of authoritarianism!

NEED EVEN MORE CAMERAS

Doug Ford claiming that speed cameras do nothing to slow down drivers only shows us that he rarely looks out of the back window of his limo as he is driven around Toronto.

All of us actual drivers know very well that people learn, for obvious reasons, to try to remember to slow down in areas that they know have a camera ready to give them an expensive ticket. I don’t think people should have to be warned that they may actually have to obey the traffic laws with the posted warning signs.

Since the police rarely enforce these traffic laws like they used to, I would like to see hundreds more of these cameras everywhere. The streets wouldn’t just be much safer, but much more relaxing for us to drive on.

Personally, I would love them to put the cameras on our Queensway once every kilometre. Can you imagine how nice it would be to have fewer idiot drivers passing you at 130 km/h in the slow lane?

And for him to say it is only a tax grab is rich. Don’t you think that a leader who has helped drive up our debt would be thankful that there is some extra revenue coming in from guilty speeders?
