As per usual with the Liberal government, we are constantly being barraged with mixed messages. The Liberals have increased the federal public service by more than 100,000 since 2015. While not all of them are here in Ottawa, the increased numbers indicate there would be a significant increase in office space needed. Yes, offices closed up during the pandemic and workers worked from home. But we now have employees expected to be back in the office three days a week (and as far as I’m concerned they should be back five days a week).
An increase in workforce, the ability to work from home and yet we have less service. Remember trying to get a passport?

There’s no excuse for this. Leave the office space as is, get government workers back in the office all week and reduce the public service. Period.

DESERVE BETTER FROM CBC
Re: EDITORIAL: Carney’s big boost adds to CBC bloat, online, June 15
Let’s face it, the CBC and the Liberal party have a symbiotic relationship that works well for both. The Liberals give the CBC $1 billion-plus tax dollars annually and in return get its unwavering support. The CBC played a critical role in getting Justin Trudeau elected three times and just did the exact same for Mark Carney.
Pierre Poilievre’s use of social-media outlets gained him a huge following among young Canadians. However, Carney got massive support from boomers whose main source of news, probably in many cases, remained the biased state broadcaster.
By promising to defund the CBC, Poilievre got extremely negative coverage, as CBC did not want to lose its benefactor Carney, who promised it even more while campaigning in the federal election.
We deserve better from a major publicly funded media outlet than overwhelmingly biased reporting.
