NO BUDGET SURPRISES
Well, I can’t say I’m surprised by the Liberal budget. They’re saddling Canadians with more debt while throwing we lowly peons a crumb or two.

The biggest winners will be Mark Carney, his Brookfield buddies and other rich business owners. There is next to nothing for the average Joe and we will continue to drown under unaffordability. With the luxury tax now gone, I’m sure Mark will rush out and order his yacht, if he doesn’t already have one. So the people who can afford to pay the tax get another freebie. Thanks, Mark.
This budget was a lot of blah, blah, blah, and what little was promised for taxpayers I doubt will actually come to pass. It took the Liberals 406 pages to say what probably could have been put into less than half that. That’s the way they roll, though … lots of words that tell us absolutely nothing. Word salad masters.
Britain warned us not to elect him, but you wouldn’t listen. Now we’ll pay the price big time.

GENERATIONAL BUDGET
The Liberals’ budget proved to be a generational one.
They’ve added another generation to pay the debt so we don’t have to.
Shame on us.

WAY TO GO, BLUE JAYS
I am quite surprised by the fact there have been no letters to the papers about the Toronto Blues Jays’ incredible run. If it wasn’t for some bad luck, they would have won the World Series in Game 6, in my opinion. How many times have you ever seen a baseball lodge itself under the wall in a game? There should have been two runs scored right there and a very different outcome to the game.
And then to read that Isiah Kiner-Falefa received threats of physical harm for his slide into home plate rather than running through standing up was disturbing. Are these people implying that they would have made a better decision in the heat of the moment with adrenalin pumping and heart racing with excitement? Hardly. Easy to second guess, not so easy to implement.

I am incredibly proud of our team that, to a man, stepped up all season long and supported each other like brothers in arms.
Things don’t always work out the way you had hoped for, but I am confident that next season they will be back even more determined to win it all.
