To say I’m outraged with this recent Supreme Court ruling is an understatement. They claim that a one-year mandatory sentence (for accessing or possessing child pornography) is “unconstitutional and cruel and unusual punishment”.
Are they for real? Who are they supposed to protect? The perpetrator or the child? Isn’t punishment meant to deter the perpetrator from reoffending? Slaps on the wrist won’t do that.
Unconstitutional and cruel and unusual punishment is what was meted out to convoy protest organizers and participants. As far as I’m concerned, child porn should carry a minimum of five years, taking them off the streets and possibly saving many young children from lifelong trauma, both physical and mental.

Accessing and possessing should be at the lighter end of that five years, but the producers of this abhorrent crime should see no less than 20 years.
The Supreme Court should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and rethink this massive miscarriage of justice towards our most vulnerable. If not, then they have shown themselves to be undeserving of their position.

TIME FOR VUT TO GO
Budget 2025: The government is eliminating two high-end taxes — on aircraft and boats, plus the underused housing tax, a one per cent tax on the ownership of vacant or underused housing.
Helloooo, Mayor Vutcliffe (sic), what about that Vacant Unit Tax (VUT)? You know, the one where you have property owners doing the work of your staff and stiffing us with a tax on empty?

Time to snuff the VUT, Mr. Mayor, right along with your money-grubbing traffic cameras.

TIME FOR SENIORS TO WAKE UP
The mainstream media keep repeating over and over that seniors are the ones who support Mark Carney.
I am writing this to inform them that this is one senior who has no use for him or the party he represents, and I always vote. Maybe other seniors need to wake up and smell the roses.
