Well, you know what they say, “You reap what you sow.” Before the election, government unions were pushing their members to vote for the Liberals because, let’s face it, the Liberals have usually given them what they wanted. Increasing their numbers by 43 per cent has added immensely to their union dues haul; it hasn’t improved service any, but it seems that’s irrelevant.
My question is this: Why would the unions believe anything the Liberals say? Most of us have long ago come to the conclusion that Liberals will say anything to get people’s votes. You would think with that track record that the unions would wake up and smell their $8 coffees.
Taxpayers are done with the whining; you should be thankful to have a good-paying job with generous benefits and a very generous pension.

My last point is this: Your union has no business pushing you towards any party, period. Who you choose to vote for is a personal choice, and maybe if more exercised that choice we wouldn’t be stuck with yet another useless Liberal government.
Yes, Pierre Poilievre would have pared back the public service, but it would have been done with a lot more thought and through attrition. You had the chance to vote for common sense and you blew it, so now you can reap what you’ve sown.

PUBLIC SERVICE SURPRISED? REALLY?
Re: ‘Promise has been torched’; PM broke vow to ‘cap, not cut’ public service, union argues, July 23
So the public service is surprised that the Mark Carney Liberals broke their promise not to cut workers. The past 10 years, they worked for a shady Liberal government, and they fell for it all again during the election. Fool you once, shame on you, fool you every single time an election hits … Well, that’s just plain stupid!

DEBT REDUCTION
A couple of suggestions to help reduce Canada’s overwhelming debt:
1. A complete halt to all bonuses for bureaucrats. They are already well-paid (and are not meeting targets, for which they should receive a debit from earnings).
2. Stop sending any funds to the World Health Organization.
