Carlton 5.4 (34) lead Richmond 1.1 (7) after 28 minutes
Club stalwart Toby Nankervis gets the job done. He looks relieved. His teammates are relieved. The hordes of yellow and black at the Punt Road end are relieved. Richmond have their first goal of the season.

Another goal to Carlton, their fourth, and the margin is blowing out.
This one was slightly fortuitous. Williams scrambled one forward and it bounced through. Four goals to zip well into time-on at the ’G.

Carlton’s “third tall” Brodie Kemp is on the board with the Blues’ third goal after 21 minutes.
There’s no Charlie Curnow for the Blues tonight, so it’s a golden chance for Kemp to have a greater impact.

The Tigers effort is first class, but it will need to be because the signs are already worrying with the gap between the two teams is obvious.
It’s Blake Acres who snares the opening goal for Carlton after nearly eights of fast-paced action.
