Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 20‑year‑old Alliston, Ont., resident after investigators say a threat was made against Premier Doug Ford. Police say the investigation began on Feb. 13, when the OPP launched an investigation into a threat directed at the premier. As a result, officers arrested Ramy Jamil Hanna of Alliston, Ont., and charged him with uttering threats to cause harm. The Ford government has appointed supervisors at two more GTA school boards. Education Minister Paul Calandra says supervisors have been appointed at both the Peel District School Board (PDSB) and the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB), citing “serious concerns about infighting and long-term financial unsustainability.” This makes a total of eight provincial school boards now under the supervision of the government. GATINEAU — An investigation by the Privacy Commissioner of Canada has found that Loblaw took too long to address requests from customers who wanted to delete their PC Optimum accounts. The office on Thursday said Loblaw had the mechanism to respond to requests but took an unreasonable amount of time to address them, and that it also failed to respond to some privacy-related inquiries from customers. Eight people are facing charges and five more are wanted after an employee allegedly defrauded a Durham business of more than $3 million.
