It is either a genius marketing move or colossal cockup, but beauty brand Pat McGrath Labs has said it has ‘lost’ three ultra-rare gold diamond rings worth a cool €9.5k/$10k each.
Intended for three celebrity friends of Pat’s, the three rings were created by cool British jeweller, Basliq, and each has a different style so they are really unique. But then, it turns out that somewhere behind the scenes there was a ‘mix-up’ and the beauty brand has said they are not entirely sure what happened.
So, from today, the rings are a part of a new collaboration between Pat’s brand and the Candy Crush game, and short of mentioning golden tickets, everyone was keeping an eye on when it would launch because of the rings.
Beauty Brand Pat McGrath

The Candy Crush Saga x Pat McGrath collaboration has gone on sale on Pat’s website and at Sephora (US only), and people don’t even have to buy anything to enter the competition.
In the new collab are lip glosses, nail polishes and the most famous lipsticks at Pat’s beauty brand – MatteTrance Lipsticks in the shades Divine Rose, and Elson, the red that Taylor Swift adores, both of which are sold out most of the time.
Gold Diamond Rings
It is inside three of the lipsticks that you might find the missing gold diamond rings, and we expect them to sell out before the day is done. The oil-infused matte lipsticks are one of Pat’s hero buys and the new Candy Crush red-striped packaging is very cool.
For her part, Pat is taking this giveaway in her stride. She says ‘Beauty should always be an adventure’. Indeed, if we lost three unique €9.5k gold diamond rings we’d be treating it like an adventure too, but we’d be bringing Bear Grylls to help us find them.
