A 15-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man were both wounded in a shooting Monday evening in the Chatham neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 7:15 p.m. Monday, the victims were walking near an alley in the 7900 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when they were struck by gunfire, police said.
The boy suffered a wound to the back and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was reported in fair condition. The man was struck to the torso and leg and was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.
No one was in custody for the shooting and detectives were investigating.
