GERI Halliwell has finally opened up about the reason she’s barely ever seen out of white.
The former Spice Girls star has adopted a muted wardrobe in recent years, with white and cream her favourite hues.

And she sticks to the pale colours even when she’s doing something like cooking.
She made the admission during an interview with Jessie and Lennie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, as she was asked about her style choices.
“This is your uniform now,” Jessie said.
“You’ve been wearing white for how long?
“For me, it just doesn’t make sense!”
“I feel like you should be in all the colours – or do you like it because you like the calm?”
Responding, Geri said: I went through a period when I was in my twenties of wearing black all the time.
“What I found – I looked at a lot of guys and they always wear the same thing.
“Like a uniform.
“So they just get out of bed and go.
“Maybe it keeps things simple?”
“When you’re at home do you wear jeans and different colours?” Lennie then asked.
“Sometimes when I’m at home, I’ll put on some khaki trousers or something,” Geri laughed.
She even said she’ll cook while wearing white, as she insisted: “But I do have other colours!”
“Your dry cleaning bill must be through the roof, Geri,” Jessie stated.
To which Geri said “Yeah!” as she giggled through the response.
How to look chic on a budget
Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.
- Don’t ever spend on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection of fashion-forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
- There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or charity shop, scroll on Vinted & eBay, snap up something from the clothing section in your local supermarket when doing the food shop or check out high street clothing stores.”
- Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse for not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.
The comments section was full of people weighing in on Geri’s sartorial admission, with many of them agreeing she had a sensible approach to her wardrobe.
“I’ve worn black for so many years I can’t remember – black clothes, red nails,” one wrote.
“Just makes life simpler, no wondering what to wear and no sorting through washing.”
“It’s interesting how she dresses it up and dresses it down and it always looks polished,” another added.
“Just like black is able to which yeah is more practical, but this is more interesting to see regularly.”
“Yaah white gives purity, gives conformity white goes with everything,” a third said.
“It doesn’t offend, it blends in with everything – not controversial.”
However, others insisted white isn’t the perfect colour choice for Geri.
“Always found it odd, especially when her most iconic look was dressed in the colours of the British flag,” one wrote.
“To go from that to a white uniform just feels quite sad.”
“I’m afraid I don’t think the white does anything for her,” another sighed.
“She has beautiful red hair and I’m sure a stylist would help her.”
“It washes her out, she needs colour!” a third insisted.
It’s not the first time Geri has touched upon her white wardrobe, as she told The Sun in 2021 that “it kind of looks like you’ve made an effort when you haven’t”.
