The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office decided to giddy up and restart their mounted patrol unit.
On Monday, the office celebrated the winners of their brand new horse naming contest.
Nine schools with agriscience programs participated, but the winner was Felix Varela High School.
Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz presented an award to the 240 students at Felix Varela who participate in the schools unique agriscience program.
And fun fact: the dogs and cats on the Felix Varela farm are all available for adoption.
