Some 13-ounce bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips have been recalled due to undeclared milk. No allergic reactions have been reported thus far.
Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk should check if they have any bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA announced a recall last month for Lay’s chips in Washington and Oregon that may contain undeclared milk.
The agency this week classified the recall as “class I,” the most serious category and “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.
The 13-ounce bags could cause a serious allergic reaction for some. People would have been able to purchase the chips as early as Nov. 3.
No allergic reactions have been reported thus far, and no other Lay’s flavors are being recalled.
Recalled bags have both a “guaranteed fresh” date of Feb. 11, 2025 and one of the following manufacturing codes: 6462307xx
or 6463307xx. Anyone with the recalled product can contact Frito-Lay consumer relations at 1-800-352-4477.
