Wage argument shocking
It is unusual to see a Liberal supporter being an advocate of paying temporary foreign workers a lower working wage than regular Canadian workers. Dr. Sylvain Charlebois’ Republican justification of increased costs being passed onto consumers is quite shocking. There is nothing wrong with jobs being able to provide a worker with the money to feed, clothe and shelter themselves. Perhaps, if the TFW jobs paid a decent wage, Canadians could work at them, eliminating the need for TFW.

The Alberta advantage?
We have the lowest minimum wage of all provinces and territories. We have the second highest unemployment rate (Newfoundland and Labrador is higher). We have the lowest funding per student of all major cities in Canada. We are the only province clawing back the federal disability benefit from AISH (funding for the severely handicapped). We are the only province charging $100 for the COVID vaccine. And only in Alberta, permission must be granted for your child to opt into sex ed classes. And to top it off, on International Literacy Day, Sept. 8, the most important concern of our province is a preoccupation with books that may be depicting sexual content. After international embarrassment, clarification that sexual content is OK but no visuals are allowed.
