A Downers Grove man has been charged with threatening to “blow up” state Rep. Anne Stava Murray in a phone message he allegedly left for the Naperville Democrat.
William Dzadon, 71, of the 100 block of 55th Street, turned himself in to the Illinois State Police Tuesday after an arrest warrant on two counts of threatening a public official was issued Feb. 7, a news release from DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly said.
It’s alleged that Dzadon left two threatening messages for Stava-Murray, who represents District 81, including all or parts of Naperville, Downers Grove, Lisle, Woodridge, Darien, Westmont and Bolingbrook in DuPage and Will counties.
In the first, left about 6:20 p.m. Nov. 13, 2024, the voicemail said: “Quit filling my mailbox with your f***ing b******t every other day you buck-toothed, ugly b**** and now you’re gonna start f***ing harassing me on the telephone. F*** you. I’ll come to your f***ing office and f***ing blow you up.”
Four minutes later, a second voicemail was left in which Dzadon allegedly said, “Where do you live? Let me know so I can f***ing return the favor to you.”
In a statement included in the release, Berlin called the allegation made against Dzadon “extremely serious” and a situation that “will not be tolerated in DuPage County.”
“Our elected officials have an extremely difficult job and should not be subject to harassment, intimidation or threats of any kind,” Berlin said.
Following his arrest, Dzadon was released on personal recognizance. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 19.
