Is this the start of something new? Nearly 20 years after Zac Efron first exploded onto the scene through High School Musical, people have now turned their attention towards his younger brother Dylan.
If you’d told us back in 2006 that two decades later we’d be swooning more over Troy Bolton’s baby bro than the athlete himself, we’d have said you’re out of your mind.
But here we are in 2025, and Dylan Efron is lapping up the limelight thanks to season three of The Traitors and we’re not quite sure what to do with ourselves… It’s like having to choose your favourite JoBro all over again!
The brothers’ parents David Efron and Starla Baskett must be proud as in addition to Zac’s stellar career thus far, Dylan has also paved quite the path for himself in the entertainment industry.
32-year-old Dylan is four years younger than his older brother. He earned a BS in Economics from California Polytechnic State University in 2013, but went to dip his toe into the world of showbiz.
Dylan’s sort of the opposite of his brother Zac as he prefers to be behind the camera. Per IMDb, he has worked as a production coordinator on a number of projects from American Sniper to Live by Night and Ready Player One.
The 32-year-old also served as a producer on Zac’s Netflix docuseries Down to Earth with Zac Efron, which ran for two seasons. Dylan even appeared in a few episodes.
Zac and Dylan get on like a house on fire, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t fight like cats and dogs when they were younger. He previously told BroBible that he and his older brother ‘were always fighting with each other’ because they were ‘so different’.
‘Then once I graduated college, Zac really took me under his wing and let me live with him when I got my first job in Los Angeles,’ he recalled.
‘He really became that older brother, and that’s when I would say we grew closer than ever. Our relationship was something that developed more as we both became adults and stopped fighting so much.’
Judging by his Instagram account, where he boasts nearly a million followers, he loves being active and can skateboard, ski, kayak, surf- you name it! He also has a grá for the motorsport industry.
Dylan is currently competing on The Traitors season three alongside well-known faces such as Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari and The Bachelorette’s Wells Adams.
The Traitors has exposed Dylan to an entirely new fanbase and when we say people are swooning over him, they’re swooning.
One TikTok user penned: ‘Ok hear me out, he’s the hotter brother,’ (controversial, but ok), as another wrote: ‘Someone send a thank you note to mom.’
