DALLAS — Widespread hail, possibly even quarter-size hail, and strong winds are expected Saturday morning, prompting several events to be canceled or postponed this weekend across DFW.
Here’s a look at everything that’s been canceled so far, so you can adjust your schedule accordingly if it affects you.
Grand Prairie Mayor’s 5K & Health Fair
The city of Grand Prairie announced the event had been canceled in a Facebook post. Instead, the city’s first Cyclin’ with the Mayor ride will take place at 6 p.m. on April 24 at Daulton Elementary. The free bike ride with Mayor Ron Jensen is open to all ages.
Earthfest
Keep Allen Beautiful and Allen ISD’s STEAM Center had planned a litter cleanup at 11 a.m. on April 5, followed by Earthfest that afternoon with multiple speakers. But the City of Allen announced the event has been canceled due to inclement weather in a Facebook post.
Heart of Melissa Spring Street Fest
The street festival, planned to take place Saturday with live music and food, has been delayed. In a Facebook post, Heart of Melissa says the event will now take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 26.
“While this may not be what we planned and we were all looking forward to the event being this Saturday, now we have 3 weeks to plan to make it even better for you!” the post states.
Irving Music on Main/Fusion
The City of Irving announced on Facebook that the Fusion event has been rescheduled for May 17 at Heritage Park, 217 Main St., and Music on Main will now begin April 11, with following events on April 18 and April 25. However, the city says the April 5 event, featuring a 2000s pop cover band, will not be rescheduled. For more information on the events, click here.
