Mounties are looking for witnesses to a Sunday afternoon crash in Burnaby Heights that has left a pedestrian seriously injured.

RCMP said officers were called to a collision at Hastings Street and Rosser Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. on Sunday.

According to reports received by police, a five-ton truck travelling west on Hastings hit a pedestrian when it was making a southbound turn onto Rosser.

The 64-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and has spoken to investigators.

Investigators are working to determine the factors that led to the collision, said Cpl. Mike Kalanj of Burnaby RCMP.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage in the area between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Sunday to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
