FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth ISD is making history with a pair of women’s varsity flag football signings.
Vaughn Aden became the second official member of the inaugural Texas Wesleyan women’s flag football team, the university posted to Instagram. Isabel Ibarra, a senior at North Side High School and the Fort Worth ISD 2024-25 Flag Football Most Valuable Player, was the first signing for Texas Wesleyan earlier this month.
About two weeks later, Aden became Ibarra’s teammate.
Aden is a standout senior from Benbrook High School, which is on the southwest side of Fort Worth.
“SO EXCITED!,” Vaughn Aden commented on the post.
Texas Wesleyan is the first university in Texas to launch a varsity women’s flag football team that will begin competing in spring 2026. And it seems they’ve found a pipeline with Fort Worth ISD student-athletes.
