Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred continues to bear down on the South East Queensland coast and is expected to make landfall Saturday morning north of Brisbane.
The tropical low, which was downgraded from a category 1 cyclone, is still a danger for heavy winds and rainfall as residents in on both sides of the Queensland-NSW border confront property damage, flooding and the loss of power.
These maps show Alfred’s latest path, using data from the Bureau of Meteorology, and danger areas – including emergency warnings and prepare-to-act advice – a live wind data centre, plus an infographic that explains how cyclones form.
This is the latest BoM projection of Alfred’s path and the danger areas.
Here are the most up-to-date weather warnings for both South East Queensland and northern NSW.
