Another day, another wild rumour, and this time it’s Jennifer Aniston and Barack Obama who have caught the attention of the conspiracy crew.
Despite Jen denying the claims and Barack recently sharing a loved-up message for his wife to mark her birthday, that hasn’t stopped speculation from spreading.
Talk that all was not well in the Obamas’ marriage started again this week when Michelle was noticeably missing from President Trump’s inauguration and Barack was spotted dining alone in DC.
Michelle has long been vocal about her dislike for Trump and was a strong supporter of Kamala Harris so it’s little surprise that she didn’t go to the ceremony but a handful of people are convinced there’s more to the story, especially as she and Barack have not been seen together in public in months.
As for Barack’s alleged link to Jennifer, that rumour really took on a life of its own when American tabloid magazine InTough ran a cover story in August 2024 titled ‘the truth about Jen & Barack’.
The mag claimed that Jennifer and Barack were ‘obsessed with each other’ and that ‘power circles’ in Hollywood and Washington ‘couldn’t stop gossiping’.
Around the same time as the cover was published, the podcast Who? Weekly also featured the claims and alleged that Michelle and Barack were ‘living separate lives.’
Chatter got so crazy that Jennifer addressed them directly while on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and said that although she wasn’t ‘mad’ at the speculation, it was ‘absolutely untrue.
She said with a laugh: ‘Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re just like “Oh, no, what’s it gonna be?” or you get an email saying some cheesy tabloid is gonna make up a story – and then it’s that… I was not mad at it.’
Jennifer added that the story is ‘absolutely untrue’ and that she’s only met Obama once, which is thought to have been at a 2007 fundraiser, adding that she knows Michelle more than him.
The wild rumours picked up the pace again in January 2025 when an alleged leaked DM from a friend of Jennifer’s started going viral on X.
It apparently read: ‘He’s with Jennifer Aniston. My old manager, now a friend, is connected to her inner circle. At a gathering with Jennifer’s friends, the affair came up casually—Jennifer herself admitted it.
‘They were sitting with a psychic, which makes it sound surreal, but it’s definitely not a secret among her closest friends.’
Barack and Michelle are no strangers to hearing rumours about their relationship with their every move being analysed during their time in the White House.
Time will tell if they say anything about the wild dating rumours, or if Jennifer has to speak out about them again…
