Nothing says dependency like selling Canadian aluminum to the Americans, who turn it into manufactured beer cans, which they then sell back to Canadian breweries that now must raise prices not for the contents, but for the container. Bravo, Canucks!
Same goes for other drink makers here. Tariffs in both directions. This is straight out of a Monty Python’s Flying Circus skit. “This parrot (or trade) is no more! It has ceased to be!”
Why in the name of everything fermented or spritzed can we not make our own tin cans here from our own aluminum? How stupid and inept are we? No response needed.

This year, more than ever, they’ll be playing with the weight of a nation’s pride on their shoulders. Canadians are praying they’ll see Edmonton’s Connor McDavid surrounded by coaches and teammates as he raises the Cup in triumph, something a Canadian team hasn’t done since 1993.
Go, Edmonton!
